1. Jesus allowed us to know that He has a Father. What is Jesus' opinion about His Father? John 17:1-3*
2. The Bible authors indicate that at one time God's face could be seen and humanity could communicate with God face to face. Since sin, and because of His glory, God hid himself from humans for good reason. The following texts give evidence of that. Exodus 33:20; 1 Timothy 6:16; Genesis 32:30; Isaiah 6:5. Would you agree that God has good reason not to reveal Himself openly and fully?*
3. What provisions had the Father made to let His people in the Old Testament know that He was always in their presence? Exodus 25:8*
4. How does the Bible say God revealed Himself in the New Testament? John 1:14; John 14:9*
5. How would God like people to see Him? Moses and Isaiah shared some thoughts and gave some ideas. Exodus 34:5-7; Isaiah 45:22-25*
6. The Bible indicates God as loving and kind. God is also expressed in other ways. What are these? Why is judgment also important for God to be God? Daniel 7:7-9; *
7. Authors in Bible recognises God as the initiator of many things in the lives and salvation of humanity. The following texts are examples. What do these mean to you? Romans 2:4; Matthew 26:64; Matthew 5:45; Ephesians 2:8; James 1:17,18*
8. Some find it difficult to grapple with the unknown, or things we don't get or understand about God. The Old Testament prophets gave guidance on how we can deal with this. What do you think? Is this naive or is it faith? Isaiah 55:7-9; Deuteronomy 29:29*
9. I hope you enjoyed a snippet of a journey into Bible Study.
