1. Salvation in the Oxford Dictionary states: 'Preservation or deliverance from harm, ruin, or loss.' Humanity need salvation from our broken lives, need to help build faith, need meaning in our lives and need a bright future. Who does the Bible say is the only one who can provide that salvation. Acts 4:12; Matthew 1:21. Do you think there is truth in that?*
2. How does David the author of Psalms describe his life which is similar to the plight of many a human? Psalm 51:1-3; 10*
3. How does Paul the Apostle describe the process of Salvation? 2 Corinthians 3:17,18; 2 Corinthians 4:16*
4. The process of being saved involves 5 elements: 1) Acknowledgement, 2) Repentance, 3) Forgiveness (Justification), 4) Renewal (Sanctification), 5) Glorification. The first is Acknowledgement. The definition of acknowledgement is: 'An acknowledgment is a statement or action which recognizes that something exists or is true'. What according to the Bible is how this step works? Romans 10:9, 1 John 2:23 and 1 John 4:15.n
5. Repentance. The dictionary defines Repentance as: 'If you show repentance for something wrong that you have done, you make it clear that you are sorry for doing it.' According to the Bible what is meant by repentance, why do we need repentance and who initiates repentance? Acts 5:31; Romans 2:4
6. Forgiveness (Justification). The meaning of Justification is to be absolved of the guilt of past sins. What does the Bible say about the reality of forgiveness. And how are we forgiven? 1 John 1:5-9; Proverbs 28:13; Romans 3:22-24; 1 John 2:1,2
7. Renewal (Sanctification). To be renewed or sanctified is to be cleansed. In reality, if we confessed our sins, we have been justified and cleansed to be a renewed disciple of God, we need daily renewal in order to keep our relationship open with God. This is called sanctification. The apostle Paul describes daily renewal as what? 1 Corinthians 15:31. Sanctification means that God wants us to grow in Him and become mature followers of him. What does the Bible say about that and who is the one who helps us to become mature? 1 Thessalonians 4:7; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; Philippians 1:6.
8. The final step is Glorification. In Biblical terms this is the time when Jesus comes and he brings an end to sin. What does the Bible say is the end result for those who are God's disciples? 1 Corinthians 15:51-54; Revelation 21:1-6. What therefore is the guidance for any disciple of Christ? Philippians 3:12-15
9. Finally who is the one who keeps us focused, helps and inspires during this walk toward salvation? Romans 8:1-11
